Looklookbuy lets you search a bunch of retail and classified sites across the web to help you find the best prices on products you're looking for. We know it's a pain jumping website to website, like Amazon to eBay to Craigslist, looking for the cheapest product prices, so Looklookbuy was built to make it easy for you to search for what you're looking for all in one place. We give you a bunch of filtering options, and sites to search, to help you find exactly what you want to buy.

I really like this site. I think it's a great idea and definitely solves a problem I face on the internet. However, I think that most people like to browse for things, instead of searching. Perhaps you should add sub-categories if the user clicks on a category? Not sure if that's clear. Take a look at zappos.com Give the user the option to search through an open text field and also a another way to "assist" them through your site.
One thing that I did notice which made me stop playing with your site was the very sloooooow response time on your side bar options, like the "price" range bar. It's really cool, so I tried using it and the latency was enough for me to stop using it all together. I'd suggest you really work to improve that because it's a really cool feature, but if it can't be used, it won't be used and might even turn some users away.
Love the colors and the logo design. Not crazy about the choice of text font on the homepage. I like how you've designed the site to look and feel like a search engine, however, some users might prefer to land on a more traditional page that includes more content. An example of an alternative homepage might be:

I would prefer that the results window include an image of the item for sale rather than simply stating that an image is available. Also, pricing was not available or was incorrect for many items I searched for, such as "Nike apparel." $? is not a useful result.
Good luck on this venture. I see the potential!
I would really need alot more ability to specify product attributes at a much more granular level for this to be useful. As another reviewer noted, it seems to work well for consumers in a latter buying stage where they know exactly what they want and are merely looking to plug in the exact product name to do a price comparison. That said the much larger cross section of buyers at an early stage in the buying cycle are really limited in their ability to browse. I would say you should add some kind a feature matrix that allows for filtering based on product attributes as well as categories and relevant navigation.
Getting navigation and categories right on an e commerce site can be challenging but its really fundamental to getting people to stay on the site and actually convert.
Hello, I love the site! Looklookbuy was very easy, fast, and the results were excellent. I was searching for particular type of earbuds for my iphone that retail for close to $99 and looklookbuy found me tons of options listed in a simple single column with options on the left which allowed me to use the price slider to narrow my results leading me to a new pair for $30! Great job! will be sharing with friends.
The pictures did not load which was the only function that did not seem to work. There were question marks for all of the items even when I checked "Available".
I would like to see more options for displaying the content in a grid perhaps? or perhaps an RSS feed you could subscribe to to see if a new/lower priced item is added?
First thoughts: Interesting site. I like the way you look things up across multiple sites. Don't know that I would use it because I prefer to buy from trusted vendors than unknowns.
CSS Issues: I ran into a styling issue on your results page that was making it hard to conduct further searches. See attached screen shot "looklookbuy". I also had issues with your contact and about pages. I'm using Firefox 3.0.12-1 on Debian-Squeeze linux.
Data Cache: I hope you are caching your results, or things won't scale if you get lots of users. When I changed my zip from 77002 to 77003, it seemed like nothing was cached. Amazon requests you cache their results (but for no longer than 3 days).
Images: Any item that has an image, you should display (or at least give the option to display). Take a look at the second screen shot "pricechirp-search" to see the improvement a few images can make.
State Not Maintained: After I did my first search, I turned off ebay, craigslist, etc.. on the left hand side. I was not expecting these sites to turn back on after my second search.
SEO: You page name should be first and site name last in your title tags.
Good Luck!
I like the landing page. Clean and simple. It would be nice if the category select list was styled to match the two text inputs flanking it on either side.
It's not immediately clear what exactly your site does. It just says "we'll search a bunch of sites" but doesn't say what sites. What if I'm not comfortable as a user buying from some of the sites you search? I think maybe either say "we'll search a bunch of sites like Amazon, Ebay,..." OR make the "bunch of sites" a link to an FAQ that says what sites you search with more information on your service.
The layout of the search page is very clear and I appreciate the price slider. The ads are not overbearing. I'm not sure if you can do anything but the search is maybe a bit too loose. I searched for iPhone in the Cell Phones category and got a TON of iPhone accessories for as low as $1. It's obvious why especially with it ranked by lowest price but if I'm looking for an actual iPhone I'm not sure what I could do to eliminate those options on your site other than using the price slider. If I'm not careful when using the slider I could accidentally filter out some cheaper options.
It's pretty obvious how you can make money on the amazon links (affiliate $$$) but I don't think Craigslist has that option. Nice of you to include it even if you won't make money on it though.
Other than which sites you search, what differentiates you from the other price comparison sites out there?
