Muziboo aims to be the best place on the Internet to get feedback on your music from an enthusiastic audience. Much like what Flickr is for photographers.
Do we communicate our vision through our website
Do you like the layout and colors. What improvements would you suggest
Do we communicate the benefits of the Pro Account properly - http://www.muziboo.com/pro
I like the colours, something I don't get is the Scribble function. It seems as I cant add any Scribbles from the site, and if it is an integrated function, it should show a message telling what you have to do in order to get the Scribbles up n running.
Hi Robert,
Thanks for your feedback. I am sure the 'Scribble' feature is little confusing. 'Scribble' is a way for other users to communicate with you. While they see a text box in that page, you see an empty page without any communication about why that page exists. I had just assumed understanding from the part of the users. Will surely fix it in the next cut.
Thanks again for not just your feedback but taking the time out to sign-up and try the site.
Home page needs more Web 2.0 -Plus I don't know where to look first. AT first glance I thought it was another social network.
Looks like your 3 main areas on your page all have different font, I'm talking about the "Upload Music" "List" and "Discuss" text...maybe it's just an illusion.
I like your site's organization, colors, and message. I didn't understand it right away. At first I thought it was some sort of music sharing site, like the illegal kinds, and then I realized I was wrong. You might want to make this point clear up front so people are not turned away.
Great concept!
Hey J,
The 3 sections have the same font. However, they don't convey the purpose of the website very well. We are thinking of one big line that can convey it in the new design. We'll also make sure that we convey the fact that we are not an illegal music sharing site. We certainly don't want people to get that impression :)
Thanks for your feedback. It was quite useful
The landing page of the site is quite interesting and conveys the message properly. People who visit the site can know whats it about by just reading the three points described properly with images.
The layout and colours are fine. But I still feel they can be improved further or rather polished properly :) I am not much a designer so can't suggest anything specific
You can improve the pro account features table a bit more by adding icons and stuffs..
All in all a good site with good features :)
Keep it up!
I get what you are going for and it's an interesting idea. In my opinion the landing page needs a bit of work. The logo seems a bit low quality in the tagline area for some reason. Also the tagline "get an audience" does not really convey anything of value to a new user. An audience for what?
The Facebook login button at the top looks strange and cut off on my screen (first screenshot). I would just make it more like the normal FB Connect buttons you see elsewhere (including farther down on your landing page).
Personally I would move the create account and FB Connect buttons into the same horizontal plane instead of stacking them vertically (see second screenshot for where I'm referring).
I think the colors are fine but the design in general needs some help to really reach a broader audience.
I went to try to find some music but was not able to find anything that appealed to me. I went to Most Played and tried playing a song and noticed that there was no way to favorite the song from the player itself (or anywhere else on that particular screen, see third screenshot). I think you should probably add at least the favoriting into the player so no matter where it is (even embedded on another site) it is an option... kinda like in the Slacker or Pandora players.
Does the site learn from my favorites and suggest music to me like Pandora? I guess I can't see myself using this over Pandora/Slacker and I'm not 100% clear where it's different/better. I guess you allow indie/unknown artists to upload music and the others don't. I tend to listen to more mainstream music though so that wouldn't really appeal to me.
The Pro Account option seemed a bit hidden in the footer. You may want to push that more... maybe you already do if I were logged in. One thing that wasn't clear to me in the comparison chart was how the limits on the basic account work. It says 10 MP3 uploads... is that per month or total?
I've also never been much of a MySpace user but from what I've seen they started in and still are heavily involved in music communities so I'm not sure how you're going to compete with them.
Overall it's an interesting idea and a place where indie/unsigned artists can upload music is neat but it seems like there are lots of alternatives in this space (including even just YouTube). I think if you could turn it into more of a pandora/slacker but for indie bands then maybe that could be more valuable but as I mentioned, I wouldn't use it because my tastes tend to run more mainstream.
To really take off you'll need to invest heavily into making the site look top-notch. Good luck!

Hi Brian,
First of all, thanks for the very detailed feedback. I'll first answer why we are unique and then come to the specifics of your feedback.
The vision behind Muziboo is to be a place where musicians can network with each other and derive value from that network. Sites like Myspace are mostly to showcase ones music. On the other hand Muziboo is a platform where musicians interact with each other even while working on a song - either to collaborate or gather feedback. Muziboo is a platform where a musician finds a quality audience for his music.
We are currently working on a complete redesign and plan to have a much better looking (and much more usable) site that clearly communicates the vision. Your feedback about not being able to favorite or rate a song from the player is very useful. I have always worked on the assumption of the listener visiting the song page to carry out any action. This will surely be fixed in the new design.
We are also working on better music/artist recommendation and hope to have it up and running very soon.
Thanks again Brian.
