How is our site's layout & functionality?
Is there ample information on our products & services?
IF you are a WalletWhiz user, how is the product?
How would you improve our site & our first product, WalletWhiz?
Hi dd! Thanks for your feedback.
If you click the WalletWhiz icon on the left side, it will bring up a floating rounded box that displays more information about WalletWhiz. Also, the keyboard buttons on the right side ("What We Do", "About Us") will also bring up floating boxes with more information.
You asked for feedback on your "products" but I only see one product. I don't have an iPhone but it seems a bit awkward to promote an iPhone application through a website, maybe this is common but just seems odd to me since I can't get to it through your website. Perhaps add a link to send/text more info about your product directly to my iPhone so I don't have to find you again.
The colors and graphics look neat and so do the floating boxes. I don't like the organization on the left size...contact and copyright info are usually at the bottom of the screen, like launchy's.
I think launchy's point is to get feedback on web applications, your site looks more like a design shop and an iPhone app. Or am I missing something? I'm not sure this is the right place to get feedback for your website.
Hi jmaite! Thanks for your feedback.
We recently relaunched our website to coincide with the updated release of WalletWhiz, our iPhone app. The previous website was completely different in terms of scope & design, so we wanted to get feedback on the new design as well.
A lot of iPhone developers have made very beautiful websites for their products, so we decided to incorporate WalletWhiz into our redesigned website to support the information available on iTunes.
I appreciate what you were trying to do with the keyboard buttons as navigation, I really do. The only problem is that it is not user friendly. Until you mentioned it specifically, I hadn't even considered clicking on them. This problem is exacerbated by the lack of any rollover feedback. At the very least give them a rollover effect and you might want to consider picking a unified link color and then changing their text from white to match whatever color you chose. Using a color besides white would make those keys stand out as special from the rest of the keyboard.
Aside from that usability problem, I like the overall layout and the colors. I do have some problems with your text on the left side. There are too many different font sizes being used there in my opinion. Pick a few sizes and use them consistently.
I love the popups. I felt like you had ample information on WalletWhiz but I was a bit disappointed by the presentation of that information. I think some additional screenshots would go a long way in helping. I also see a lot of iPhone apps that have screencasts/videos on their sites. That would be very cool as well if you could do that.
Oh, one more thing I would suggest... Maybe it's just me but I think you might get more interest and better reception if you focused your site on JUST WalletWhiz. Instead of just using your development company's domain as a landing pad and then having popups for your various apps, consider giving each app its own domain/site (e.g. walletwhiz.com). That way you can focus solely on the app in question and really push its features!
At the very least you may want to consider changing your launch (Edit Launch link) so that your search terms include "WalletWhiz" so launchly can pull in tweets about your iPhone app.
Thanks Brian! Your feedback is very helpful, and your suggestions are definitely appreciated. We will definitely tweak the active keyboard buttons to make them more obvious. I believe it's the major reason why people find it hard to navigate the site without thinking, "So, how do I find out more about this company & its products?".
About WalletWhiz, we are currently working on ways to further promote it on our site without making it the sole focus. Your suggestion about separate sites for each app is wonderful, though we might do that once we have more apps under our banner. Thanks again for the great feedback and for the great site!
Something seems to be wrong with the site. There is just a few text on the left without any links or more information. Am I missing something?
I wish I could be more helpful, but at least on FF/Ubuntu the page is almost empty with no links.
