MatterMeter is a service where you can share opinions on products, services, and people. Tell others what brands matter and don’t matter to you. You can then see how other people have “matterized” those same brands and whether you agree with them. And, you’ll get to see the overall meter for each brand.
We're looking for general feeling about the website and design. How can we improve the look and feel, and see what is missing and that is'nt obvious for us
This is nice! Design is great and easy to understand. I love that the first thing I saw was a question with a text box, I immediately wanted to fill in the blank. I can waste a LOT of time on this website.
I'm curious if you plan to make this available at a fee? I think this is information that would be VERY valuable to other people. They can learn how people identify with their company and why....this is quite valuable information. Can also learn trends. I don't think you want to charge the people voting, perhaps anyone who wants to use your site?
Now THIS is a nice looking site IMO. I love what you've done here. Great work!
The front page is very clean and easy to follow. Uncluttered. I love the video tour, it did a great job of explaining things. Signing up was easy thanks to FBConnect. You may want to consider supporting other 3rd party accounts. We have had pretty good luck using RPXNow for our 3rd party accounts which handles FB, Twitter, GMail, and a bunch of other OpenID providers.
One question I have I suppose is why is it necessary to have an account to simply vote on a "matter"? Have you considered allowing anonymous matters and limiting them by IP or cookie?
On the MatterBoard, I think it would be nice to be able to vote on a matter right from the list instead of having to click through to that matter's page. Maybe a link/button that would pop up the Yes/Now/Why form for the matter you clicked on?
Overall it seems very well-thought out and put-together. I'm curious if you have any plans for monetization at all? I didn't see any advertising and obviously the brands aren't directly paying. Perhaps you plan to try to sell your data to the brands but it is fairly public so I'm not sure how that would work.
That's cool that you have a widget but maybe you could offer a brand-targeted widget that they could put on their page somewhere to allow people to vote on if they matter or not?
