Chipped. In helps small groups manage shared expenses together.
Tracking both expenses as well as the money exchanged between participants, everyone has a clear picture of exactly what each person has put into the group.
While initially targeting 'casual' expense tracking for things like road trips, weddings and home improvement projects, it's also a simple and easy way for roommates to keep track of shared expenses and for families to keep track of how much they are spending on food, entertainment, etc.
All kinds of feedback desired, but some specific items.
- Appearance and theme
- Navigation and layout
- Input on value/pricing
- Bugs, Issues and problems
- works reasonably well on the iPhone but I am looking for reports in:
- Mobile Opera
- Palm Pre
- Android
- Blackberry Storm.
- other comparable mobile browsers.
First thing, I love the landing page - clear and concise. I didn't find a way to get to the examples you mentioned on the "What's new" section in launchly. Once I login, I noticed that the projects I'm tracking are all 3 months in length and 4 weeks, but the 4 weeks don't span the same months. I'm a bit confused on that. Also, I thought at one point I was able to state how long the length of the project is, but don't see a way to do that anymore. What if my project is 6months?
Great updates, but some subtle changes are still needed.
Thanks for the feedback.
Sorry, I should have been more clear in the release notes about the examples. They are a list of the kinds of projects you can have and are shown on the projects page when you have no projects. See the attached screenshot 'Picture 1' for what it looks like.
There was/is no way to specify how long a project will be around. They used to expire unless subscribed to, but I've removed that and they never expire now. If you're done with a project then just delete it (on the edit page).
The 4 weeks and 3 months are a new feature since the last iteration. For each week (Monday to Sunday) and each month, it displays the total amount of expenses in that time period (which is why some weeks span two months).
It displays the last 4 weeks and last 3 months allowing you to compare this week with past weeks and this month with past months to see if you're spending more, less or the same.
Of course this is mostly useful to people tracking expenses for things like food or entertainment (as my wife and I are doing ;).
Most of these changes were from feedback received by the community here at Launchly. Thanks to everyone who commented.
New landing page. It's better, but could be improved even more.
Can no longer remove yourself from the list of people chipping in.
Can no longer add the same person twice.
Projects no longer expire.
Subscriptions are now optional and voluntary (shareware model). Subscribe based on how much you use the service and the value you're getting from it. I may provide extra value for payment, but during the beta the app is not restricted in any way.
Web edition is wider.
Usability tweaks:
Note below email field explaining what it's for when asking someone to chip in.
Better display of examples (better copy too) when a user has no projects.
Notice stating next possible steps after creating a project.
First thing I tried was clicking on the screenshots on your landing page. They loaded fine but the caption had a strange yellow background which would normally look fine but the close image still has a white background so it looks odd.
It is quite an improvement over the old landing page IMO. A lot less text, nice. I think you are close. What I would suggest is taking your marketing copy that you have in the green box, your screenshots, and your get started button and combine them into one really nice header/image. So make one big box/image with a nice looking background gradient or something and then add in a few screenshots w/some nice shading. Wrap your marketing text around them a bit and then add your get started button on top. Check out GuestList for an example: http://www.guestlistapp.com/
I appreciate the increased width also. Thank you. Great progress here. Keep up the good work.
Your suggestion is my command. 3rd time the charm? Just pushed a new version of the landing page up. I'm happy with how it looks now, but always open to more suggestions.
I saw the guestlistapp release and it looks very slick!
Haha... I think it's looking QUITE a bit better than the first time around last week! Nice work. It's much cleaner and easier to figure out what's going on now than before IMO.
